Early learning centres are licensed to provide care and education for children from three months to kindergarten entry. They are required to meet a number of licensing requirements and are rated using the Early Achievers quality rating system.

Paige MacLaren, director of the Morell & Area Early Learning Centre, says there is a huge demand for trained ECEs in rural communities. “There is a shortage of qualified Level 3 educators in our area,” she said.
